Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Anius Technology Services Inc. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), a corporation incorporated under the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects your personal information when you use Stock Tracker Pro (the "App"). It applies to information collected through the App, our website, and any related services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and data generated through your use of the App:

  • Account Data: Name, email address, and encrypted password when you create an account
  • Trading Data: Trades, portfolios, and related financial records you enter or import
  • Usage Data: App interactions, feature usage, and session information to improve our service
  • Payment Data: Subscription tier and billing status (payment details are processed and stored by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Stock Tracker Pro's features
  • Calculate P&L, analytics, and tax reports based on your trading data
  • Process subscription payments and manage your account
  • Send service-related notifications (account verification, password resets, billing updates)
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you
  • Detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access

We do not use your trading data for any purpose other than providing the service to you.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

  • Data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the US-East-1 region (Northern Virginia, USA) — see §10 below for cross-border transfer details
  • Database is encrypted at rest using AWS RDS encryption (AES-256)
  • All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plaintext
  • Authentication tokens are securely generated and have expiration policies

While we implement strong security measures, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication where available.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Stripe: For payment processing (name, email, subscription details)
  • Market Data APIs: We send stock ticker symbols to retrieve current prices — no personal data is shared
  • AWS: Infrastructure provider for hosting and data storage

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

  • Active accounts: Data is retained for the lifetime of your account
  • Deleted accounts: Personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion
  • Backups: Encrypted backups may retain data for up to 90 days after deletion
  • Legal requirements: Some data may be retained longer if required by applicable law

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of all personal information we hold about you
  • Export: Download your trading data in CSV format through the App
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate or incomplete information in your account
  • Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data, subject to limited legal-retention exceptions
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw your consent to our processing at any time (subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice)
  • Complain: Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or your provincial privacy regulator (e.g., Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec). EU/UK/EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with their national data-protection authority.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

Stock Tracker Pro uses:

  • Authentication cookies: To keep you logged in across sessions
  • Local storage: To store user preferences and cached data for performance

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. No data is shared with advertising networks.

8. Children's Privacy

Stock Tracker Pro is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.

9. Canadian Privacy Law Compliance

Anius Technology Services Inc. is a Canadian organization and our handling of personal information is governed by the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation, including:

  • Quebec: Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25)
  • Alberta: Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)
  • British Columbia: Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)

We process personal information based on your consent, our contractual obligations to you, and our legitimate business interests in providing the App. You may withdraw consent at any time as described in §6, subject to legal and contractual limits.

10. International Data Transfers

Your personal information is stored and processed on Amazon Web Services infrastructure located in the United States (US-East-1 region, Northern Virginia). By using the App, you understand and consent that:

  • Your personal information will be transferred to and stored in the United States
  • U.S. law-enforcement and national-security agencies may have access to data stored within U.S. jurisdiction under U.S. law
  • We have entered into appropriate contractual safeguards with AWS for the protection of your data, but cannot guarantee that foreign laws will protect your data to the same standard as Canadian law

If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, transfers from those regions to the U.S. are made under appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

11. Data Breach Notification

If we experience a breach of security safeguards involving your personal information that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA. Notification will describe the nature of the breach, the personal information involved, the steps we are taking to mitigate harm, and any steps you can take to protect yourself.

12. Marketing Communications

We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We will only send you commercial electronic messages (such as newsletters or promotional emails) where you have given express or implied consent. Service-related messages (account verification, password resets, billing notices, security alerts) are necessary for the operation of the App and are not subject to consent.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by emailing support@stocktrackerpro.com. We will honour unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the App and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
